כידוע, החברה רואה פוטנציאל גדול בשוק הישראלי. לצורך היוזמה המקומית הראשונה שלה, Airbnb בחרה להתמקד באוכלוסיית הסטודנטים במדינה. לאור יעדים אלו, יזמה החברה שיתוף פעולה עם מועדון ההטבות istudent israel. המועדון, מונה למעלה מ-130,000 משתמשים מכל רחבי הארץ. Airbnb תסבסד הנחה של ₪ 140 לחברי istudent, להזמנה ראשונה ב-Airbnb.
סטודנטים יקבלו את ההטבה באמצעות אפליקציית istudent israel (להורדה בחנויות האפליקציה) או באתר האינטרנט, המאפשרים לכל סטודנט הרשמה חינמית ופשוטה.
המטרה של הקמפיין המשותף היא העלאת המודעות בקרב ציבור הסטודנטים בישראל לאפשרות של שימוש בAirbnb לצורך חופשה בחו״ל והוזלת עלויות החופשה בעשרות אחוזים, ובפרט לאורך חופשת הקיץ יולי-אוקטובר. שימוש בAirbnb יוזיל לסטודנטים את עלויות החופשה ובפרט עם ההטבה הנוספת.
מועדון istudent ערך לאחרונה סקר שמגלה כי מרבית הסטודנטים מעדיפים להוציא את כספם (בנופש בחו"ל) על בילויים ואטרקציות ולא על מקום הלינה שלהם או בתי מלון. עוד מראה הסקר, כי המחיר הוא השיקול המרכזי בבחירת יעד חופשה בחו"ל לסטודנטים המקומיים.

Airbnb launches its first promotion campaign in Israel
Airbnb, the world’s leading community-driven hospitality company, launches a partnership fully focusing on the student population.
The company sees great potential in the Israeli market. For its first local partnership, Airbnb has chosen to focus on the student population. Following their crowd targeting, a cooperation with the leading student consumption Club- "istudent israel", was formed. Istudent includes more than 130,000 student members across Israel. Airbnb will grant a gift of ₪ 140 to first time istudent users booking on Airbnb.
Students can receive the gift voucher through the free application "istudent israel" (available on all types of mobile phones) or website.
The partnership's aim is to increase apartment rentals abroad by Israeli students who finish their semester studies and fly away for the summer holidays in July-October.
The istudent club has recently conducted a survey which reveales that Israeli students much prefer spending money (during their holidays abroad) on entertainment and attractions rather than accommodation in hotels. More it shows that price is the key/major factor/consideration in choosing a holiday destination and an accommodation abroad for the young students.
